ABOUT WASHINGTON FESTIVAL CHORALE
Great music, great fun
Washington Festival Chorale originated as the Washington Community Choir, directed for many years by Mr. G. Richard Zimmerman.
Reborn under the direction of Mr. Matthew Boice as the Washington Festival Chorale,
the choir has performed a wide variety of choral literature. After Matthew Boice's untimely death,
the choir has been under the direction of Mitchell Stecker.

Highlights of recent seasons have included a concert featuring the music of Harry Burleigh. A Matt-A-Palooza Concert
in honor of Matthew Boice was an exciting end of our 2024 concert season. A concert entitled Long and Winding that featured music by J.S. Bach, R. Vaughan Williams, Stephen Paulus, and Bob Dylan. Our annual Christmas Concerts have featured
selections by J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, John Rutter, and Dan Forrest.

The choir continues to be involved with the community by presenting concerts for the Washington Rotary, singing the
National Anthem at Washington Wild Things Games, and performing with the Washington Symphony Orchestra.
The chorale features many local musicians in their concerts from the WSO and other local music groups.

The Washington Festival Chorale is a true community choir. There are no auditions.
We rehearse on Sunday evenings from 6:00-8:00 at First Presbyterian Church 1793 located at 100 East Wheeling Street in Washington, PA.
If you like to sing great choral music, come and join us!
